Why BlissPoint Access over Smallpdf, iLovePDF, Adobe Acrobat (online)?
- ✓Runs entirely client-side — your PDF is never uploaded to a server, unlike every major competitor in this category.
- ✓Honest about scope: this extracts real text in reading order rather than pretending to perfectly rebuild complex tables and layouts, which even paid tools struggle with.
- ✓Clearly tells you when a PDF has no extractable text (a scan) instead of silently handing back an empty document.
What You Get
- Real text extraction preserving reading order and page breaks
- Outputs a genuine .docx file, not a renamed text file
- Runs 100% in your browser — nothing uploaded
- Clear messaging when a PDF is scanned/image-only
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my tables and images be preserved exactly?
No — this focuses on getting text out cleanly for editing, not pixel-perfect layout reconstruction. For that, a dedicated layout-preserving tool is a better fit.
Does this work on scanned PDFs?
No — it doesn't perform OCR, so a scanned or image-only PDF will show a clear message rather than an empty document.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No — conversion happens entirely in your browser.
Is my data safe? Could I ever lose my work?
Your work is saved as you go, and our database keeps a rolling restore point covering the last 6 hours, so a recent mistake can be undone to the minute. Every night we also back everything up to a separate, encrypted cloud storage provider, keeping every nightly copy for 35 days and one copy a month for a year. Because the backups live with a different provider than the database, an outage or problem at one never takes your work with it.
