Keep patient health information out
BlissPoint Access is not built for protected health information (PHI) under HIPAA. It is not a business associate and does not sign business associate agreements. Please don't enter:
- Patient names, contact details or photos linked to their care
- Appointments, visit notes, treatments, diagnoses or prescriptions
- Invoices or payment requests to patients for care
- Emails, forms or files about a specific patient
Aiva follows the same rule and will point patient matters back to your practice's own systems. See section 9 of our Terms of Service.
Questions
Is BlissPoint Access HIPAA compliant?
No. BlissPoint Access is not designed for protected health information (PHI) under HIPAA, is not a business associate and does not sign business associate agreements (BAAs). Healthcare businesses use it for the business side of their practice and keep patient information in their HIPAA-covered systems.
Can a medical or dental practice use BlissPoint Access?
Yes, for marketing, social media, design, video, bookkeeping, vendor bills, staff email and calendars, and business documents, as long as no patient health information is entered.
Can Aiva post about my practice?
Yes. Aiva can write and schedule posts about your services, team, hours, promotions and general health tips. She will not use patient details, stories or photos, and she declines requests that involve patient health information.
Where should patient information go?
In your practice management, electronic health record or other system that is covered by a business associate agreement.
